We're Passionate About Giving Back

The Apple American team resides in 28 different states, in countless cities and neighborhoods, but we’re all united by our shared passion for serving the communities around us. We believe in taking care of our own, including our Apple American team members and their families, our restaurant guests, and the communities surrounding our Applebee’s restaurants.

Caring for Our Own

Taking care of our own is at the heart of our team and core to our culture. That is why in 2015, we started the Family Fund to support our team members and their families when they are faced with unexpected challenges. The Fund is entirely employee funded, with more than 66% of our team members participating.

These funds are used in a variety of situations including medical bills, financial struggles, and recently in North Carolina where several team members’ homes were flooded or destroyed during Hurricane Matthew.

Apple American is proud to partner with many non-profit organizations and initiatives across the country. We’re not just about delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests; we believe in bettering and serving the communities we serve.

Our Fundraising Efforts Across the Country

Apple American supports many charitable organizations across the country. These are just a few examples of how we give back to our community.

  • Apple American has helped raise $700,259 in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand, a foundation raising awareness of childhood cancer.

  • Our restaurants in Ohio, Washington, Oregon and Idaho raised over $60,000 to help make wishes come true for children through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

  • Our employees have "made a muscle to make a difference" for the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Summer Camp, recently raising over $200,000.

  • Our restaurants in Southern and Northern California, and our New England market, support the Special Olympics every year, donating over $120,000.

  • Apple American works with local schools, clubs and charities to raise more than $2 million through Flapjack Fundraisers.

Are you interested in scheduling a fundraising event through one of our restaurants? There are several ways to partner with us, including Dining to Donate events, which provide an opportunity for eligible non-profit groups to earn a percent of food purchases, and Flapjack Fundraisers, which are pancake breakfasts hosted at Applebee’s.
